About Rocketry Of Central Carolina

Whether you came by this page intentionally or by accident, thanks for stopping by. We are dedicated to the safe and legal pursuit of the hobby of Rocketry. Our main emphasis is safety, it is the most important aspect of anything we do. We are also here to promote rocketry and educate fliers and the public regarding safe construction, launch and recovery methods related to the rocketry hobby.
If you have an interest in model rocketry activity in central Carolina, please contact us regarding our club.
All are welcome to come out and attend our launches, rocketry people as well as those who have never witnessed a flight. Our club was founded with several experienced individuals who put safety first and believe very strongly in positive promotion of rocketry. The club was also founded on the basis that the general membership should have a say in the direction of the club as opposed to just one individual. Our club can be contacted for experienced and safe demonstration launches for large and small groups. If you have access to a large field, we'd be interested in talking about this with you.
Please check out the FAQ page. Maybe you flew rockets as a kid and have just wandered by. If so, you're in for a big surprise. While you were growing up, so was hobby rocketry! Have a look around, and come join us at a launch!

Generally, we launch on the third weekend of each month, with the following weekend as a rain date.

Our main launch site is at Williams farm off of Hwy 601 in Midland, NC (16620 Hopewell Church Rd). Link to directions and map to the farm.

An alternate launch site for summer months maybe a High School or Elementary School in Concord/Monroe area, Please check the website! Please call about summer launch information or visit our web site for the most up to date information.

We also provide a site for TARC (Team America Rocket Challenge) flights. Call for details.

Rain dates are on the following weekend if we have extremely bad weather conditions.

Any questions concerning time changes or last minute weather conditions contact Ralph Roberts at 704-568-1070 or Email me at: RocketRalph@bellsouth.net.

To help defray the costs associated with using the field, we recommended a donation of $8.00-$10.00 per flyer per day, families with lots of young flyers maybe a $10.00 donation would be good.
