April Launch - 4/20 & 4/21 - Camp out & Night Launch

Overall we had a fun weekend. The weather wasnt perfect with the windy conditions on Sunday, but we still got off a lot of launches on Saturday.

I'm hoping we can build on our successful night launch next year! I like to see a lot more participants next year!

April launch ideas... Night Launch??

Hey all... John Bergsmith had a thought the other day that since the April launch is supposed to be a camp out launch, that we try and have a night launch.

Basic rules would be: FAR 101, 3.3 lbs and under, G & under, capped altitude at either 1000 or 1500 feet, rocket would need to be illuminated for the entire flight, with all major parts having some illumination in case of seporation, and you'd need to pass a preflight inspection before the close of the flight day before dinner break so you can fly that evening.

Thoughts? Please post in the comments so we can get a guage of interest level...

March Launch - Sunday, 3/17 Set up 10:30ish

When : March 16 & 17, 2013

Where : The Williams Farm. See Web Site for directions if you are new.

Set Up : We need Volunteers! Please be at the field at 9:30am.

Launch Start : As soon as set-up is complete.

Launch ends : Approximately around 6:00 PM so we have some light to close up.

Weather at this time : 72 Saturday/Breezy & 63 Sunday (Add'l: SATURDAY Winds ranging from 8-18 kts sustained mid afternoon, SSW to NNE, pushing into the northeast field)

Remember that this is a working farm, so dress accordingly, sturdy shoes and suggest you dress in layers so you can take layers off and on as the temperature changes.

We will be using the new Launch procedures for this weekend. Please read the post on this site to become familiar with the new procedures. Duty signups sheet will be at the front table for RSO/LCO combined position. Also sign up for the equipment take down.

* Ken will be onsite on Saturday only!

* Carolina Composite Rocketry will be onsite.

* Ralph will be cooking food both days!
