Upcoming Launch Schedule

ROCC 2024-2025 Launch Schedule:

NO launch in May due to the wheat. We hope to fly in June.

All launches are at the Midland, NC site unless otherwise stated.*

Here are some other launch opportunities in our area:

ICBM & ROSCO, better known as Rocketry South Carolina, flies near Dalzelle, SC., Just NE of Shaw AFB.  More information can be gotten at their site HERE

The Saturn Rocketry Club in Hendersonville is currently switching their launch field. As soon as we know where they land we will post it. Their FB site is HERE

NC Rocketry flies at Bayboro, NC in the northeast part of the state, information is HERE

Set-up starts at about 9:30, launches commence about 10:30. Field closes about 60 min. before local dusk so we can clean up. Watch the site front page for specifics. Also visit us on FaceBook. You can also check for the FAA NOTAM at https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch/nsapp.html#/ and using KCLT (Charlotte) as the location. This will give you the starting and ending times for HP flights.

* If field is available due to crops, etc.

Discussion > Semroc orbital transport glider

At the April launch the Glider on my semroc orbital transport flew so good, it went about 300' out in to the crops and was never seen again. I have the Transport and would like to scratch build another glider to go with it. With Semroc closed there are no kit to buy and make patterns from. Would someone that has one make me some patterns with the wood grain direction, thickness of the wood for the wings, elevons and fin and the tube size and length? Or if you have one that you would be willing to bring to a launch so I could get the details myself would be great! Also if someone has the kit they wanted to sell I would be willing to buy it for a reasonable price, (a little more than retail since you might have the only one).

Thanks

Rodney, this is a link to the PDF file on the JIMZ site(invaluable resource by the way). It has a page with the fin patterns, it is the old Estes kit. But I would think they are the same. http://www.spacemodeling.org/jimz/estes/k-42.pdf - Hope it helps.

Greg
Thanks for that site, I spent last night between getting a patern the right size and watching the Hockey game, both turned out just the way I wanted. I also have waterslide decals that I can print on a inkjet and cut out for it from that same PDF, Bonus!
Thanks for your help!
