Kip stopped by with one of his 1945-vintage PA-18 Piper Cubs, This one has the more powerful 150-HP engine so that makes it a Super Cub. Beautiful!

Discovery awaits it's launch on Nov. 2nd. This photo from Sandy & Erica Houston, who are there waiting for it to go.

Doug, Keith, and I went on a road trip and flew a few rockets and had a great time. Burl Finkelstein and Alan Whitmore were there also along with Terry McCreary (newly elected as the TRA president at that time) and Jim Mitchell of DPS fame.

This rocket was built with the idea of flying it at night launches. It flies nicely on 29mm G motors. It is illuminated via 2 LED based truck taillight lamps powered off of batteries. All of this is mounted in the nose and a plexiglass bulkhead is used to separate the lights from the ejection charge.

Pictures of construction and finished rockets used in the ROCC Heavy Tube Contest. Rockets were to show creative use of materials, fly, and be nicely finished.
