The January Launch is GO!

The January Launch is GO for this weekend Jan 15th and 16th!
Everyone:
We will start the launch at 11:00AM to extend the day.
So we will be running the launch from 11:00AM to 5:00PM each day.
Setup and 10:30AM. If the gate is still locked call me on the cell 704-560-0147 then I can get a hold of Kip or Brian.
The house/bathroom will not be open and they will probably have the water off anyway due to the cold.
I'm still trying to find a source for a porta-potty for the year.
Ken Allen from Performance Hobbies is planning to be on site as of Monday night.
Larry Smith of Rocket Science in Lexington SC also expressed some interest but I have not heard from him yet.
Hobbytown has a new shipment of Aerotech motors and is pretty well stocked.
Please come out to support our vendors even if you can't fly. It is important to support them when they come to launches.
We need as many people as we can to make our flyer fee goal. At least try to make it out for a little bit. Remember our recommended donation is $8.00-$10.00 per flyer per day, families with lots of young flyers maybe a $10.00 donation would be good. Again, these are recommendations not harden rule.
The NAR competition will be moved to next month Feb 2005. Please bring out your test flights so you will be ready.
The contest will be the same as we had slated for October.
1. 1/2A Boost Glider Duration 17
2. C Egg Loft Duration 16
3. 1.2A Parachute Duration 7
I need to get with Bob B. to finalize those Mini Manta Glider kits.
Bob let me know when you have some time this week.
We hope to have these for sale at the launch, this is the kit that won the last duration contest, $5.00 a kit.
Anyone needing to certify, please contact me ahead of time. Todd Haring will have Level 2 NAR test, if you are interested in taking the test he is planning to be out there early Saturday but then has to leave by 1:00pm.
It will be cold so dress in layers, bring wool socks to keep your feet warm.
Ted Thomas has us four new rocket directional signs I will pick those up and deliver them to Roy.
John Hood should have our 2005 FAA waiver paperwork ready.
Doc Russell has the batteries and plans on meeting us at the field.
Winds are currently being forecast to be out of the North-Northeast we may want to setup back toward the house to keep rockets out of the trees to the southwest. Somewhere along where the ditch is in the middle of the field.
If you have any questions please email me at ROCCPREZ@prodigy.net or call me at 704-568-1070.
Thanks,
Ralph Roberts
