February Launch is Go!

Everyone:
The February Launch is a go for the Farm.
We will start the launch at 11:00AM to extend the days flying time.
We will be running the launch from 11:00AM to 6:00PM each day.
Setup at 10:30AM each day.
Kip said they will leave the gate open, if not, call me at 704-560-0147. I can get Kip or Brian down to unlock it.
The house/bathroom will not be open.
I'm am still trying to find a source for a porta-potty for the year. The one we had last year fell through. The "BP" station is just 2 miles down the road on 601at Albermale Rd.
The NAR competition will be this month, Feb 2005. Please bring out your models to compete.
The contest will be the same as we had slated for October.
1. 1/2A Boost Glider Duration 17
2. C Egg Loft Duration 16
3. 1/2A Parachute Duration 7
$10.00 Gift Card for Hobbytown USA will be awarded in each category and NAR Ribbons will also be awarded.
The contest will run all weekend.
No vendor on site this month.
Hobbytown still has a lot of Aerotech motors.
We need as many people as we can to make our flyer fee goal. At least try to make it out for a little bit. Remember our recommended donation is $8.00-$10.00 per flyer per day, families with lots of young flyers maybe a $10.00 donation would be good. Again, these are recommendations not harden rule. FYI, we met our goal during the January launch, Thanks to Everyone. (land site fee is $250 per weekend)
We still have one Mini Manta Glider kit, if interested see me first thing Sat, may you can build it to fly on Sunday.
Anyone needing to certify, please contact me ahead of time. Todd Haring will have Level 2 NAR tests Saturday, he will be there for setup, if you are interested in taking the test.
I have the batteries and I plan on bring them by 10:30am.
I also purchased new caps for the launch storage tube, I will fix it this weekend.
Winds are currently being forecast to be out of the West this means setup by the old windsock location, near the back. Temps are suppost to be in the 50s with some sun, so dressin layers for the chilly morning and warmer afternoons.
We will have a brief meeting to decide on our next, very popular Launch Camp-out weekend, consider either next month, March, or wait until the Wheat is cut, which may be the June launch. Consider your summer vacation plans.
Pre-Launch Task:
John: Make sure our waiver goes from 11:00 to 6:00, I beleive sunset is close to 6:00pm now.
Steve: DId you check flight card status after last launch, we have had so many flights I do not know if they are running low.
Volunteers for tear down Sunday, please let me know if you can stay. With weather moving in Sunday afternoon/early evening we may shut down early, we will play it by ear.
If you have any questions please email me at ROCCPREZ@prodigy.net or call me at 704-568-1070.
Thanks,
Ralph Roberts
