Loss of a Good Man, Rod Reagan ROCC and ROSCO member passes away.

Everyone, I wanted to pass on the news that Ed Fenton shared with me this evening. Member of ROCC and ROSCO (Orangeburgs NAR section) Rod Reagan passed away Saturday afternoon. According to information on a thread from the Tripoli SC website (www.tripolisc.org) he had apparently been ill for a while. He was very active with Orangeburg group and has been very instrumental in the formation of ROSCO (Their NAR section) He lived in Greenville,SC and traveled up on occasion to our launches. He truly enjoyed rocketry for what it was.
I remember meeting Rod for the first time several years back down in Orangeburg, we went out to dinner at the Mexican place and he was by himself, so I invited him to sit with our group, he was witty and was really interested in pursuing the NARTRAK program to build bigger projects. I had just flown one of my bigger projects and was celebrating the flight. He ask a lot of questions and was glad he had found a group of rocketeers that really took rocketry serious. He said the guy in Greenville, SC had just folded up the club there and he was looking for a new place to fly.

He even started coming to the ROCC launches, said the drive was not to bad. He had several notable quotes on the field. One was to either Terry or Larry a while back. They had a late deployment or the rocket just missed coming down in the trees and he said Boy, you should go rob a bank on the way home, you are really lucky today. It sounded better coming from him, I just remember laughing my head off. He was a witty guy. I remember him paying the kids a buck to go retrieve his Estes rockets; he said he got a kick out of watching them. He came up to our launches with Ed Fenton, they were quite a team, I know Ed will really miss his comrade.
He will be missed by everyone and as Tim Eizerner always says, God Bless Men and their Rockets

The following are the post to the TRIPOLISC.ORG site, please go to their site to read the thread, if you didnt know Rod, you get a sense of who he was and how much he meant to the Rocketry Community.

Rod Reagan has left the building
I am saddened to report the Rod passed away early this afternoon.
I got a call from one of his neighbors who was with Jill.

Until today I have been at scout camp all week. I last spoke to Rod last Sunday morning as I was going to camp, he had been on oxygen for a couple weeks and was not able to move around on his own last week.

I will update with arrangements when they are known.

I will be attending, then will be going up to scout camp to take dinner to Adam and view the evening PowWow dance pageant.
