February 2006 Launch Report, Part 2

Welcome to the Make-up weekend February post-launch report Pt II.
As stated in Februarys Post-Launch Report, Part I, we did indeed have a rocket launch in February. In fact we ended up having 3.
You remember, the weather was really kind of on the nasty side for our regularly 3rd weekend launch. So Ralph, doing what good club presidents do, worked out a make-up launch for the following 4th weekend. Cool, huh?
In case you were wondering how the second weekend went, we will now go over the details. I think I missed Saturday, (schedule conflict again), but I made Sunday for sure and have the flight slips. Again, NOW you know why it is important to fill out your flight slips neatly. Its because I have to be able to read/interpret them best as I can for these reports.
Saturday, the 25th of February. The weather was again, not the best.
There were 21 fliers that managed to put up 56 rockets, again not bad under the circumstances.
Mark C. (?) flew a LOC 445 (?) on a G40.
Mark Ferrell flew a Hyarcas on a F20.
Michael Goetz flew a Mustang II on a G80 with a altimeter.
Brandon Jackson flew a Super Big Bertha on a D12, Cluster Bomb with bomblets on B64s and a Skywriter on A8s.
Tori Jackson flew a Patriot RTF on a B6.
Joe Grosjean flew a Fat Boy on a E9.
Justin, flew the Black Widow on a F20 and then a F42.
Steve Bumgarner flew his Caliente on a F52, Big Betty on a C6, Spike on a E28, Lightning on a B6, Bright Hawk on a D15 and E9, the Canadian Arrow on a G64 and the Runt on a E28.
Bob Bernatchz flew a Matra Super 530D on a A3-T, Honest John on a E18, Mini Manta glider on a 1/2A3-T and a Sidewinder on a D15.
Doc Russell also returned to fly his Bumble Bee on a C6, Ariel on a G79, the John Deer on a H180, (thought it would take more than that to lift one of those tractors) and a Fat Boy on a E9.
Courtney (?) flew a Big Baby Bertha (1.6 upscale) on a D12.
Tom Kinson flew a Renegade 2 stager, on a C6 to C6, and the 36 D Squared for a 1st flight on a cluster of 2 D12s.
Candace Lowe flew the Yellow Bob on a C6 and a Big Betty on a B4.
Chelsea Lowe flew a Storm Caster on a C11 and a Big Daddy on a D12.
Dakota Lowe flew a V-2 on a E9, Out Lander on a C6, Eagle Glider on a C6 and a Cut Down Canadian Arrow on a unk G.
Robert Lowe flew a V-2 on a D12 and E9.
Ralph Lowe flew a Super Bertha on a D12. (Thats one big Lowe clan flight team there)
Michael Sanders flew a Out Law on B6s.
Brent Johnson, of Hobby Town USA, flew a Initiator on a F40 and F52.
Ralph Roberts flew his new Red Baron glider on B6s and Mr Pringles on a F42.
Hope Shea flew a RTF on B6s and a C6 and a Fire Hawk on a 1/2A3-T.
SCS, TARC, Team flew their competion rocket, Twitch II on F26s ,with and without eggs testing the time and projected altitudes, then went with a F40 for comparison.
Sunday, the 26th of February. Again cool and damp with some light rain. I remember a lot of time was spent under the pop-up shelter around the fire-pit between flights.
We had 7 whole fliers, but we did get 22 rockets up.
Roy Potter, I flew my Mars Probe on E-9s with different delays trying to find the best one for whistle time. Some how I broke 2 fins. Its a nose lander, go figure.
Ralph Roberts flew his Big Bertha on C6s and a Patriot on a C6.
Terry Baucom flew his big Bat on a G64, the delay burned but did not ignite the ejection charge so its salvage the fin canister and rebuild.
Steve Bumgarner flew the Deep Purple on a F39, Rocket-On on a E9,
Cloud Buster on a B6, Spike on a D12 and a Bright Hawk on a C11.
Brent and Kelly Johnson , of Hobby Town USA, Mooresville, flew a Estes Exo-Skull alien lander on a C6.
Hope Shea flew a RTF on A8s and B4s and a Shuttle Express on a B4.
Hope and Brad Shea flew the Shuttle Express as a team on a B6.
OK, I think that about sums up the February rocket launch.
While your waiting for the March Post-Launch report, start getting ready for the Camp-out launch this 29-30 April (I know I said 20-30 Apr last time, it was a typo caused by the lack of rocket exhaust fumes to the system) Note: Anybody planning on having a camp fire is expected to bring your own fuel and a fire container, ie/example, a barbecue pit or some such thing. No fires directly on the ground please.
OK, Till later, remember to keep those exhaust nozzles clear, and see you on the field.
