More on the TARC Team Winners

This is an email I received from one of the proud parents. He included a bunch of pictures, which you can see here.
Ralph

Thank you for the nice article on the web site. The team was REAL EXCITED to win the TARC event. They launched very early in the day and knew that they had an extremely good score (1.79) but then had to wait for the remaining 89 teams to complete their flights. They hit the 800 foot target EXACTLY and only missed the in-air time by 1.79 seconds (hence their score). The final hour was the most tense. We all huddled around the scoreboard anxiously awaiting each new result. It really became exciting when the final results were known and it was apparent that Statesville Christian School had won. I don't think that winning a lottery could be any more exciting.
The TARC event was very impressive. The attention to detail and safety was impressive. The whole event ran like clockwork. These rocket people sure do pay attention to the fine points! It was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone.

I also want to thank everyone at ROCC for their support. The launches at the Williams farm were key to the team's success. From the very first moment that the boys came to the farm it was obvious that everyone there was interested in helping them learn how to fly rockets. You're a close-knit group of people that made us feel welcome. You've even resurected my interest in rocketry. The sport sure has come a long way from the days I was launching Estes kits when I was a teenager in the seventies.

I've included a few pictures of the team. I've given the files names that are somewhat descriptive of the image.

Thanks again. We're looking forward to more launches at the farm.

The proud dad.
