Happy Birthday to the person who the Soviets thought so important that, if we had known his name, we'd have either killed or kidnapped him. They referred to him in the (few) press reports only as "the Chief Designer". There's a great Bio on his life by James Harford which provides some great insights into the USSR/USA race to the moon.
