Upcoming Launch Schedule

ROCC 2024-2025 Launch Schedule:

All launches are at the Midland, NC site unless otherwise stated.*

Here are some other launch opportunities in our area:

ICBM & ROSCO, better known as Rocketry South Carolina, flies near Dalzelle, SC., Just NE of Shaw AFB.  More information can be gotten at their site HERE

The Saturn Rocketry Club in Hendersonville is currently switching their launch field. As soon as we know where they land we will post it. Their FB site is HERE

NC Rocketry flies at Bayboro, NC in the northeast part of the state, information is HERE

Set-up starts at about 9:30, launches commence about 10:30. Field closes about 60 min. before local dusk so we can clean up. Watch the site front page for specifics. Also visit us on FaceBook. You can also check for the FAA NOTAM at https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch/nsapp.html#/ and using KCLT (Charlotte) as the location. This will give you the starting and ending times for HP flights.

* If field is available due to crops, etc.

Sunday is looking OK, but check comments

Well, we flew till about Noon, and then the sleet came.... so the field was cleared and reset.

Sunday is looking not too bad though, and Ken is trying to come down, so check back in a bit. We'll try and post as soon as we know what's what.

That's cool but Wayne and I can only fly Sunday. Sunday actually looks like the nicer day. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday !!

Heads up!
Weather forecast has changed! Ralph will go to the field and be prepared to setup @ 9:30am - however developing storms out of Atlanta could result in upwards of 2 inches of soggy mixed precpitaton! Ken Allen will not be here today due to this. If it does hit the Farm Saturday will likely be cancelled as well as Sunday. Updates will be posted.

Radar looks really bad as of now (0800). Rain coming right up I85. Currently in Spartanville.

Saturday Night 9:00PM update:
Just spoke to Ms. Williams and she confirmed they had no further heavy rain/sleet/snow this afternoon so we are GO for tomorrow (Sunday) 10:30AM Setup, 11:00AM start time. Please drive on the sides of the Grass Strip anyway just in case. We will setup the flight line just past the Porta-A-John. We will stay off the bulk of the runway that way and it will provide the deepest part of the South fields to recover on. Winds are predicted to be 5-10 from the North with highs in the lower 40's, please bundle up. Try to park your cars nose end toward the fields to maximize parking area. I will have a Christmas card for the Williams and I will be making them an Awesome Carrot Cake for their Holiday celebration. Ken is coming tomorrow, so come out and buy rocket presents for all your friends and Prefects, :)
Thanks, Ralph
