Lets try this again... WE HAVE A GO!

Friday 8:30 pm....
So far the weather looks like it will cooperate, it doesn't look like the predicted rain for today is going to happen, if it does it's not supposed to be much. Ralph has checked in with Kip and we are a GO!!
Please, remember to drive along the sides of the runway as much as possible. It's important that we don't chew up the ground as it thaws out during the day.
Times are our normal 11:00 till 5:00 or so, depending on field conditions and daylight. Set-up folks should be there by 10:00 so we can get a good start.
I emailed Ken from Performance Hobbies and he's planning to be there, so you can get pretty much anything you might need on site.
We'll probably set up in our normal configuration, with the flight line near the ditch, since the house isn't occupied, but that could change with rain and wind, so keep an eye towards what folks are doing when you get there. Winds are predicted to be from 050 at 10 am, 360 at about noon, and 330 at 4 pm, between 4 & 8 mph. This puts it heading away from the Simpson's side and toward the trees on the other side. It does look like it will only get into the high 30's or low 40's so dress appropriately. Roy, if you could bring your fire pit this time it'd be welcome. If someone colud bring some extra wood to keep it going that'd be great. I have a bucket of scraps from the shop but if you have a couple of pieces to contribute it'd keep it going for a while.
That's all for now, See you THERE!

COLD!!! But, a great day, 3 L1 certs, TARC got several flights in, Mitchell College's USLI team got in a few flights, all in all a really big day.
Remember to dress warmly tomorrow, it's supposed to be a few degrees warmer but not much.
If someone has a few sticks of firewood please bring it for the pit. Remember to drive on the edges of the runway. It's in fair shape, lets work hard to keep it that way.

Monday AM
Congrats to Sandy on his successful L2, and condolences to Louise for the incineration of her MiniMag. Big thanks to all who made it a great weekend, Roy will have the complete wrap-up shortly I'm sure.
Start working on February!

Here I sit, fingers crossed, rubbing my rabbits foot (I think he likes it),holding my breath and butt cheeks clenched (don't want to contribute to global warming) and hoping this comes together !!!!
like Paul, I'm keeping good thoughts about this.
At the same time I'm also willing to accept the fact that with todays light rain and whatever we get Friday, I know there may be a chance that the grounds themselves will not have had a good enough opportunity to drain and get firm enough for us to get on it.
Thats what makes it even more of a bummer, when the weather itself is good, but the grounds are not.
Hopeing for the best.
Roy
I probably can't make it regardless as it is a very big birthday weekend for my wife. I would prefer that my launches be skyward as opposed to where the sun don't shine.
Safety first (burn ban)
Landowner second (property damage)
Fun third (when 1 & 2 cooperate!!!)
I'm hoping for a good day or weekend and will do everything I can to be out in a supporting role whatever days we fly. At this moment, I'm 50/50 with attempting an L2 again or just flying MPR/L1, but if we're go - I'm there.
Sorry you won't be there Malcolm, but do what is right today so you can play tomorrow :) My Starburst still isn't done, so no loss there. . . :(
Sandy.
Come on Sandy, those $60 reloads aren't going to burn themselves! Give 'er the go!
Yeah, yeah, what Doc said...let's see $60 reloads...so with Ken that would be at least an "H" if not an "I" or a "J" motor...Right on! burn em Sandy burn em!
If needed, Naked rockets are acceptable :-)
KIp is GO, Kip is GO!
I would say we setup closer to the ditch, unless winds are strong from the Southwest, no one is in the house.
I also got 3 new six foot 1/4 Stainless rods from our Friends at Precision Machine in Gastonia, a generous donation I might add.
I am buying Hot Dogs today, so you all better be there!
My back is shot, will not be much help loading and unloading and I will need help with my grill and stuff.
Doc. Make a note that we should still drive slowly to the sides of the runway just in case.
Yes Doc, that Fire Pit would be a good help in keeping the fingers warm.
I've got 3 buckets of wood, but any donations will help keep it going through the weekend.
We have the "Drive on the sides" and "Soft Drive" signs which should be in the silo.
Roy
Sounds like I missed the action on Sunday. Louise's MiniMag bird was in one piece when I left Saturday. Did anyone get pictures of the inceneration? Sorry to hear about that.
John
Sandy, congratulations on your Level 2. Now to your Level 3.
