Lets go over the one day 1-1-11 New Years launch on Saturday the 1st. of Jan.
There were 19 plus vehicles lined between the port-a-pot and the farmhouse.
The morning started in the 50’s and went up to between 58 and 62 degrees depending on the forecaster. Fog burned away by 1130 leaving high clouds with occasional clear spots and nearly calm winds. It was really good conditions for the expected 4 hours of flight time.
The forecasted rain came in after 3pm as predicted but buy planning ahead we had plenty of time to finish and put things away before any steady rain came in.
We had 26 fliers and we put up 59 flights burning 60 engines with one cluster flight.
Ken Allen was present and had all our attention at one time or another.
I spent 2 hours in the trees with nothing to show for it, so I missed a lot of great flights.
Who flew what?
And keep in mind that any misspelling noted here is on the one filling out the forms. Points are subtracted for bad penmanship, especially on the sign-in sheet.
Roy Potter, glad to be back, sorry to have missed the last two launchs and Freedom Launch.
I flew my “Stars and Stripes-F” on a F50-4T and the “ARCAS” on a F42-4.

Malcolm Smith. Flew a big fat stubby Naked “Warlock” on a I800-8 that lifted like a mortar round coasting to a high apogee and then landing short of going over farmer Simpsons fence, whew.
He also flew a “Cyclotron” on a H400-8, whew again, then calmed down with a “no Name” with a cluster of two F240-12s ? Is that right? F240? Or two F40’s?
Professor Doug Knight, (You never know cause he does surprise us with something that he put together with what he found in the bathroom closet) Flew the “Green Machine” twice on a I245-m’s and the “met My Rocket” on a H120 cessaroni and then a Naked “Tomahawk” on a F32-8.

The lady has done a great job in my absence, Thanks a lot. Want a job?

Keith Biddinger flew a “X-Calibur” on a cti G69 skidmark, that was the one that the burning motor grains blew out of the rear closer and burned on the ground to wake us all up.
Gaston Day “TARC” team flew the “Schmeterling” on a F40-7, F26-6, F50-6 and a F120-6. ouch.

Charles Ogino, who can be counted on to come out with something to push the envelope played it cool with a custom “Quantum Leap” on a J210-m. And it was cool.
That brings things up to date.
Keep checking the ROCC Web Site for updates.
We are still planning on our regular 3rd weekend monthly launch for January 15 – 16th.
Hope to see you on the pads and remember to keep those exhaust nozzles clear.

Roy it was 2 F240's in my LOC Starburst. These are the smallest of CTI's V-Max motors. I think that I need to build the Viper 3 next to see how 3 of these things would work.
Go For It Malcolm!
Malcolm you son of a gun! I wanted to be the first to fly 2 F240's in my Starburst, but just didn't get it all together in time. . .Sorry I missed it, but I too was in the woods most of the day. Are you going to do it again at the next launch?
Sandy.
Sandy, if I get it built, I am going for the Viper III with F240's. Since the 2 in the Starburst looked like a jump to hyperspace the three should be amazing. If I have my math right, that should be an H-720.
Sandy,
How about a Starburst drag race? Loser throws $5.00 in the club treasury.
