Upcoming Launch Schedule

ROCC 2024-2025 Launch Schedule:

NO launch in May due to the wheat. We hope to fly in June. 

 

 All launches are at the Midland, NC site unless otherwise stated.*

Here are some other launch opportunities in our area:

ICBM & ROSCO, better known as Rocketry South Carolina, flies near Dalzelle, SC., Just NE of Shaw AFB.  More information can be gotten at their site HERE

The Saturn Rocketry Club in Hendersonville is currently switching their launch field. As soon as we know where they land we will post it. Their FB site is HERE

NC Rocketry flies at Bayboro, NC in the northeast part of the state, information is HERE

 Set-up starts at about 9:30, launches commence about 10:30. Field closes about 60 min. before local dusk so we can clean up. Watch the site front page for specifics. Also visit us on FaceBook. You can also check for the FAA NOTAM at https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch/nsapp.html#/ and using KCLT (Charlotte) as the location. This will give you the starting and ending times for HP flights.

May launch postponed

Finally spoke with Ralph & Kip about an hour ago, and it looks like the first launch window we'll have is the first weekend in June. The barley crop is still in, and he's trying to get it dry enough to harvest, but the rain is playing havoc with it as well as his other fields.One field down toward the river has flodded completely in the last storm.  (What a way to make a living!)

So lets look toward the weekend of the 4th & 5th of June and hope that it works out.

Bummer, but we are at that seasonal time where we are at the whim of crops and random weather patterns.
Next weekend is Memorial Day Weekend and most of us may be subject to holiday activities with family.
Hang in there and be patient is all we can do for right now.
I am definetly planing on the special 3 day 4th of July East Coast launch at Orangeburg. Hope to see a lot of you there.

How are we looking for June 4th and 5th? I cannot make the 4th as my daughter is graduating from high school. Rocket launch as an excuse would not be well received.

And I have been informed that I will not be available the 4th or 5th also, but the regular 3rd weekend launch date will only be 2 weeks later, so I will ahave to wait for that.
If we do launch this coming weekend I will need to get the Launch Secretary box to some one. I usually pass it on to Ralph if he can go out.
I have already scheduled my time to be able to go to the 4th of july weekend launch in orangeburg.
