New Year's Day launch report from Doc R.

We had 13 flyers with us on 1/1/2020, with a total of about 46 launches. I say "about" because I recall a certain someone who flew the heck out of a Riptide (I'm lookin' at you Colette!) and I don't think we got a card for each flight. I know I pushed the button on that thing at least a dozen times it seems!

Steve Brown  was the big flyer with 7 total flights, the Gremlin on an E-9-4 (he's trying to get rid of his "E" motors) the little Hyper-Loc on a D-12-5, the Vulcanite on an F67-6 and again on an F-51, the 2-stage Long Tom on a C-6-0 to an A-8-5, something else (no rocket name on the launch card) on an H-242 and lastly his very impressive LOC-VII on a J-350 (love that motor!)

Scott Pennington flew his NOVA on a D-12-5, Big Red on an E-12-4, his Nike-Ajax on a cluster of 3 D-12-5's, Black Gold on an F-15-6, Cosmo 2 on an E-12-4, Thor on an H-550-7, and his Raptor on an H-219-7

Fred and Bruton Monroe were busy, Fred with his LOC-4 on an H-128 for his successful L-1 (congrats Fred!!), then flew the LOC-4 again 3 more times on a G-79, a G-76 and another G-79. Way to go Fred.

Fred's son Bruton flew his Blue Lightning on a B-6-4, then moved up to the Big Daddy on a D-12 and finished that off with an E-9-8 in the Big Daddy.

Allen Harrell and his son were busy as well, with the Rascal on a B-6-4, the Hex-3 on a B-6-4, the Hi-Jinks on a B-6-4, the Der Red Max on a C-6-3 and a 2-stage Cow-Cow on a B-6 to C-6-5 combo.

Terry Baucom came out and flew his all fiberglass Fat Boy on an H-180. Good to see you Terry!

Todd Haring flew his Mini-Magg on an H-242 for a great flight, good to see you as well Todd!

Mark Bartkowiak flew his Odyssey on an F-24-5 with some damage. This is a really cool rocket, I may have to find one of these before they go OOP. I love ones that have cool fin designs. I thought Mark flew more but I don't have the flight cards.

Julius Burris flew the Rookie on a C-6-5, his Top Shot on a D-12-5 and the Rookie again, this time on a D-16-8 AP motor, first one of those motors I think I've seen.

Colette Fournier was a busy young lady, flying the Riptide twice on B-4-4's and 3 times on C-6-5's. I swear this one flew a bunch more but the launch cards aren't here to prove it, I think we must have re-used one or 2 of 'em. Way to go Colette, hope you and your dad come out again.

Dr. Doug Knight was by himself, without any of the student teams we usually see around his table. He flew the Estes Trajector on an E-16-6, the Mammoth on a CTI F-51, his White Trash on an H-250-Green and the much-flown (and much crashed) Tubular Trash on an Aerotech G-25 for a 4-second long burn. I think he was the only one to end up over at Mr. Simpson's place.

Lastly I flew my large Laser-X on an F-26 (wish they'd bring that kit back!), the ring-finned Solar Cruiser twice on F-67-6's (nice hard-hitting motor!) and my Megga-Mossi (mosquito) a couple times, both on E-9-6's.

Al in all it was a great day, with nice weather and a wondefule way to bring in 2020. Thanks to all who cam out and either launched or just watched.
