ROCC November Launch - Rescheduled for 11/30 & 12/1

Between the weather and the crop situation it's not working for this weekend either...  we're pushing back to the 30th and December 1st.

Ken will be able to be with us as well, so it'll be good for everyone it looks like.

Also, don't forget the theme for November is Semroc. We're hoping to get a group picture and send it up to Semroc. Might provide a much needed smile for Carl's family, so please participate.

Keep checking back, things change obviously!

Saturday,October 26th - LPR Launch

The launch is a go for Saturday. Set up will be 9:45am, so please come out and give us a hand. We will be limiting motor size to nothing larger than Estes "E" motors. We have to limit the size because we will be launching closer to the house, and other farm buildings.

Ralph will be onsite with food so come hungry.

Ken will not be at this launch.

Upcoming Launch Schedule

We are hoping to get a low power scheduled for October once the corn has been harvested. Hopefully we can start the regular flying season in November once the remaining crops have been removed. Keep checking back for updates.

Add'l, from Doc R.....

The ROCC Launch schedule is posted! (at last!)  I also went through the ROCC google calendar, available from the link to the right, and corrected the dates and specifics for the Orangeburg, SC ROSCO/ICBM folks as far as research & sport days. It's good out to April 2014 (it's as far as they've got posted on their site) and if you want more details on their launches their new site is HERE.  dr

Launch Themes

I’ve had a number of questions regarding launch themes for the upcoming year. Yes, we will continue to do them and I have the first couple months of the season planned.

November – the theme will be any rocket produced by Semroc. Unfortunately, as most of you know we lost Carl McLawhorn this year. Carl was a super nice guy that did a lot for the Model Rocketry hobby. I can’t think of any better way to remember him than to get as many Semroc flights in as possible. Also, on Saturday I want to get a picture with all the rockets and participants to send up to Semroc. I'm sure Carl’s family will enjoy seeing it. So build something Semroc before November’s launch.

December – LOC Minie- Magg Seems like a popular easy to build rocket.

Facebook Group Page

Just wanted to let everyone know we now have a group page on Facebook. If you're on Facebook go over and join it. Once you join feel free to post, add pics, and invite other friends. Another great tool to promote the club, and for members to stay connected.

May 18th and 19th - Cancelled

Because of the wheat, at this point we can't walk through the fields without causing damage. Still looking at being able to launch in June.

Once we know more we will post an update.

Thanks,

John

April Launch - 4/20 & 4/21 - Camp out & Night Launch

Overall we had a fun weekend. The weather wasnt perfect with the windy conditions on Sunday, but we still got off a lot of launches on Saturday.

I'm hoping we can build on our successful night launch next year! I like to see a lot more participants next year!
