A look ahead to a New Years Launch
Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 8:32PM We're trying to guage participation if we have a New Year's Day launch, right now it's predicted to be a high of 32 and winds of 8-10mph from the NNE (away from Mr. Simpson's property, but towards the tree line)
If you'd be up for it, please send a message to us via email ASAP!

EXTRA, EXTRA.... Wanna go to an Air Show?
Friday, November 3, 2017 at 9:18PM We got an email from Paul Schaefer yesterday that I wanted to pass on...
Not long now!!
Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 12:01PM As Summer winds down and the air starts to get a little cooler, a rocketeer's thoughts turn to... AP!
Just saying, we're not long from the next season of flying at Kip's farm in Midland, time to start dusting off those range boxes and making sure all your fins are attached.
To get you in the spirit of things, here's a little piece put together at KQED for their Quest program...
See everybody soon!

Where were you?

I was sitting in our living room with my parents and my Grand Mother, who as a child had seen the Wright brothers fly, watching this 48 years ago.
Here's a LINK to Nasa's image gallery on Apollo 11... enjoy!

NASA videos worth a look...
Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10:05AM A couple of great NASA videos that hit the site this week, the first I wanted to bring to your attention is one on Sounding Rockets. It explains how they're used and a bit about why they're the right choice for some missions.
Next up is one about Cube Sats, a subject that's near & dear to Dr. Doug's heart, having worked on some.
The last one is from the NASA USLI site, a great introduction video on HP rocketry.
Thanks, and keep building! dr
May launch update
Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 10:14PM Kip's crop situation is, well, there's no other way to say it, they're really TALL!
Ralph & I worked out at the farm a couple weekends ago and I found my lost Luna rocket (which was nice) but the oats in the north field where it was were beard-deep!!
Bottom line, we're not flying in May.
Good side, we may very well get a June launch in so we'll keep you up to date.

April 22 & 23 Launch Report
Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 9:08PM Unfortunately weather conspired against us in April, with high winds on Saturday and a day full of Rain canceling Sunday. Roy couldn't make it out so I'll take a stab at doing the launch report. Remember, if you have photos that you want me to post in the gallery send them over to: rocketrycarolina (at) gmail (dot) com.
Space-X has a sense of humor
Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 9:45AM I watched the first re-launch of Space-X hardware the other day with great admiration, but heard something go by in the commentary that I just had to do some more research on. The 2 drone recovery ships are named the "Just Read the Instructions" and the "Of Course I Still Love You"!
