December Post Launch Report

Happy Holidays and seasons greetings to everybody. And with the holidays now past, and the decorations taken down, lets take some time to get caught up on last Rocket Launch Meet. Any misspellings will caused by a recently acquired small kitten jumping across the keyboard. Seems that trying to catch my moving fingers is just too much of a temptation. The December Rocket Meet and Launch weather was actually much better than I was expecting and everybody who came out had good flying weather with little drift. It was more cold/chilly Saturday than Sunday, but when the sun was out it was comfortable. I had the fire pit set up with hot water for coffee, coco, tea and to warm the hands. Saturday the 17th of December, HO! HO! HOO! I even had a red and white Santa Loves Me hat. We didnt expect a large crowd, after all it was the weekend before Christmas and we knew that a lot of members had family holiday activities or trips that weekend. We did have some drawings for rocket kits, we hope to see them fly in January.

Launch This Weekend

Everyone: The December Launch is a go at Williams Farm this coming weekend Dec 17th and 18th. I know it is the holiday season and we are all very busy, however, give yourself a little break and come out if not for just a little bit. We will have Estes rocket kit give-a-ways all day. Steve donated a bunch of kits last month and we want to give them away for Christmas. We will have a Christmas card for the Williams family so please come by and sign it. Ms Williams has been real nice to give me some pecans and other vegetables throughout the year, I would like to return the favor and bake them something. I may make them one of my Mom's award winning Rum pound cakes, I think the may like that. Also the 2006 membership drive has begun, please Renew or join in. We will also have the T-Shirts for sale, they would make a nice Christmas gift for that special rocketeer in the family. Sizes from Youth Med to Adult 2XL.

November Launch Report

Welcome, congratulations and Happy Post-Thanksgiving wishes to everyone.

The November rocket launch was great. We knew that being the weekend prior to "T" Day, that the turnout wouldn't be really high, but it turned out really great for those who could come out and play.

Saturday the 19th, the weather was mostly calm with a small intermittent breeze with lots of sun that that ended up keeping the temperature comfortable.

We had 12 fliers signed in who put up a total of 34 flights, burning a total of 53 engines. That includes clusters and multi-stagers. Bob Strauss's cluster flights accounts for the majority of the additional engines burnt.
