Dave Strunk getting his dinner ready. He brought a couple of thick steaks that he used Ralphs grill for and invited to share one with me. That was nice, I was just going to settle back with a MRE just because it's simple.

Doc Russell with the required adult supervision, checking out Ralph Roberts "Cosmic Staff of Azul" for it's "Night Flight" just at dusk to fly on a G106 Sparky that was more impressive at dusk. Full night it's almost too bright.

Charles Ogino had his night flight, the "Diab-glo" that flew on a I225 fast jack. You can just see that the nose and body is illuminated with revolving colors. Most cameras automaticly adjust for bright lights so most shots of the night rockets just don't show the illumination.

After 6 shots I managed to get one really good shot of Michael Hollowell's "Super Night Mosquito" being preped for a flight on a J540, which was seen through out it's flight and as it drifted out past the Simpson Farm. It was calm at the ground level, but at 300ft or so, there was a strong cross wind so most the night flights ended up far in the field or in or past the Simpson farm.

Yep, thats the morning after look of (I think) Kaylee Biddinger.
-
roy_april-2014 image070.jpg
The morning dew was as heavy as if had rained that morning. It took a few hours for it to burn off, then the humidity went sky high and there was more gnatts to buzz around our heads.

Roy Potter, my "Stars and Stripes" flew on a H97 smokey and I found out the difference between the tenson strength of a aluminum and steel quick link.
-
roy_april-2014 image086.jpg
My "Stars and Stripes" nose cone returns with the piston and main chute after the aluminum quick link failed. Luckily, the field was very foregiving and the body sustained no damage. Ken was able to dig out 10 steel quick links for my imediate purchase.

WELL, THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM!
Doc helping Corky prep his "Buzz Bomb" that flew on a K780Redline. He angled it further out to keep it away from the crowds that ended up with a farther walk to recover it after a successful flight and deployment.
