Launch Stuff, Sept 07, 2004

There is no re-scheduling of the Freedom Launch, (Freedom is cancelled for
2004) so the next opportunity to fly in Orangeburg will be their scheduled
October launch which will be October 9th or 10th, this will be a ROSCO Launch
(NAR event). The next regular Sport launch in Orangeburg will not be until Dec
due to the EX Motor launch in November.
I know you all are frustrated with the launch status this summer and with
the cancellation of Freedom launch I know you are throwing your hands in the
air. So, let me update you on where we are at this point. I am trying to sure
up the Cannon School up off of the Popular Tent Rd exit off of I-85 for a
minimal launch for Sat or Sunday September 18th or 19th. It will be a C and
under launch due to the field size. I hope everyone can bring out there
competition rockets for The ROCCTOBER launch. Charles David is trying to arrange the field so information is to follow.

Secondly, the status of the cornfield is a little unsure at this point for
the October scheduled launch Oct 16 and 17. After an opportunity this past
weekend to speak with Mr. Williams and to look at the field there are some
issues.
The corn crop, which is feed corn has to dry out to a certain point before
it can be harvested, the rain from Frances is not going to help, pushing the
time table back further. They also have an issue with morning glory vines
woven through the corn. This also make harvesting difficult. They are going to attempt to adjust their equipment to make it happen. However, given all
this, our October dates may have to be moved to either of the next two weekends Oct 23,24 or Oct 30,31. So leave you options open.
