Upcoming Launch Schedule

ROCC 2024-2025 Launch Schedule:

NO launch in May due to the wheat. We hope to fly in June.

All launches are at the Midland, NC site unless otherwise stated.*

Here are some other launch opportunities in our area:

ICBM & ROSCO, better known as Rocketry South Carolina, flies near Dalzelle, SC., Just NE of Shaw AFB.  More information can be gotten at their site HERE

The Saturn Rocketry Club in Hendersonville is currently switching their launch field. As soon as we know where they land we will post it. Their FB site is HERE

NC Rocketry flies at Bayboro, NC in the northeast part of the state, information is HERE

Set-up starts at about 9:30, launches commence about 10:30. Field closes about 60 min. before local dusk so we can clean up. Watch the site front page for specifics. Also visit us on FaceBook. You can also check for the FAA NOTAM at https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch/nsapp.html#/ and using KCLT (Charlotte) as the location. This will give you the starting and ending times for HP flights.

* If field is available due to crops, etc.

ROCC Update 3/22 & 23 - Thursday evening:

EDIT TO ADD:
I had a chat with Ken an hour or so ago. He will be with us SATURDAY but is committed to Culpepper VA for Sunday. SO... if you need motors from Ken please arrange for them and prepay Ken through Zelle, etc., and we'll hold them for you for Sunday. His phone number is (202) 723-8257.
Also... because of the fire danger we've been dealing with NO SPARKIE OR METAL motors will be flown.

Weather is looking decent but WINDY for Saturday & Sunday, Sat. is topping 15mph by mid afternoon and Sunday is looking like 10 or so mph.
Ken should be with us this weekend so bring your shopping lists.
Ralph has been under the weather this week so a few extra hands for setup on Saturday would be helpful.
We'll set up at 9:30, hopefully fly by 10:30. Close up about 4 or when the wind gets too strong to effectively fly.
For those who want to do a cert flight, mind the winds. I'd strongly suggest at least a Jolly Logic chute release. If you dump the main at 2,500' on a windy day like Saturday you'll never get it back on our field.
If anyone needs to take a NAR L2 test then see me on Saturday please. See you on the field!
